_ Dr Robin Owen from Diamond Light Source was speaker at our SciBar on Thursday 19th January.

 Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron science facility. By accelerating electrons to near light-speed, Diamond generates brilliant beams of light from infra-red to X-rays. 

Dr Owen explained the role Diamond plays in the scientific landscape of the region and nationwide, giving examples of experiments conducted over the lifetime of the project, now celebrating its tenth year.
