Sorry, there aren't any prizes for finding it... :(
We're the Oxfordshire branch of the British Science Association and we run the Oxford SciBar.
The SciBar is literally just that, science in a bar (or rather, a pub...)!
On the third Thursday of each month we bring in a scientist (from any field) into the pub, in a really informal and fun atmosphere–no power point, no lectures–to talk about what it is they do or what their field of science is. And to take questions from you!
We've had a whole range of speakers at the SciBar including Simon Singh, Sir Walter Bodmer, Matt Parker and Evan Harris, and had topics including "is archaeology a science?", the science of chocolate, evidence based policy, The Quantum Story and many more...
So if you're interested in any area of science, engineering or maths, or have any questions to ask some real world class experts in their field, free up the third Thursday of the month in your diary and come down to the Port Mahon, St Clements Street, Oxford at 6:30pm!
We also have a blog as well as podcasts of all of our previous speakers for you! So take a look around the site and feel free to get in touch if you have any questions (firstname.lastname@example.org)!
